Yes kids under 10 should have phones in case emergency but you should check your kids phone to make sure they are not doing anything bad on it ALSO PUT ON SAFE SEARCH

There are phones that parents can put only their numbers on. I believe it's fine if the kids using it as a life line to their parents/ grandparents but no social media etc. Plus the world is crazy, I'd want my kid to be able to reach me at any time if there's an emergency. I think in terms of getting a real phone maybe 13 and they need to earn it. Good grades, clean room, does chores when it's their turn, not a bully etc. I'd also moniter their social media use at this time but not fully restrict it. That way I can protect them if I see something bads going on but still allow them the trust and ability to explore and grow. Also the iPad trend needs to die. Why do parents sit their kids down with a YouTube video/iPad game instead of playing with them and doing fun parent/ kid stuff. Hide and seek, tea parties, pretend to be WWE wrestlers, superheros etc. Parents used to actually spend time with their kids. Now they let the internet raise them. That's why there's so many kids on this app even posting nudes and talking to fucking pedos. No protection from their parents.
