Yes, but only if done right and safely. Willy nilly asking everyone out there and/or just giving out info to the Internet is not the way. Best practice is to have some sort of app or something where you can receive funds without giving out too much, if any, info about yourself. Also, be transparent/honest about what you need the money for, and follow that. People are unlikely to help if you don't give a valid reason, but also if you're ever found to have misused the funds and did not use them as you said you needed, the backlash can be intense, and don't think people can't find you when they're pissed, even if you didn't provide personal info. There are very intelligent and/or very tech savvy people out there that can find people based on little info, or even none. IP addresses and such. So yeah, be honest about it. And play it super safe (best practice is places that are for this sort of thing, like Facebook groups for it or something). And on that, be careful not to do it in a space that doesn't allow it. Could get you banned in some things.
