Communism can work on a small scale. That's how most tribal societies were set up . everybody pitches in everybody benefits. It's when you have people who don't put in yet still reap the benefits, that's when it gets out of balance. The old man who's making arrowheads provides them to the young men who go hunting so everyone can eat.
